Art and Science Combine Well on the Cover of a Famous ACS Publication Featuring a Recent Research Article by Associate Professor Dr. Khamphee Phomphrai and His Research Group from Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology
The cover of the Inorganic Chemistry, December 19, 2022, Volume 61, Number 50 depicts the night of a full moon of the Loy Krathong Festival, having the symbols of Thai temples and VISTEC as a background. Molecular structures of interest from the published paper are shown floating in the air and above the “Krathongs”.
Chemically, however, the cover of the journal is described as “Constrained aluminum inden complexes were reported revealing promising activities and excellent selectivity for ring-opening co- and terpolymerization of epoxides, cyclic anhydrides, and lactide. With DMAP as a cocatalyst, the ROCOP of cyclohexene oxide and succinic anhydride could be tailored to give cyclic poly(CHO-alt-SA) via intramolecular transesterification assisted by zwitterionic interaction.”
