Congratulations to our PhD student Nachnicha Kongkatigumjorn!
Fang (Nachnicha Kongkatigumjorn), PhD student in the laboratory of Associate Professor Daniel Crespy, investigated in details the synthesis and properties of a family of thioether esters. She managed to produce compounds which could be selectively hydrolyzed either extremely slowly or very fast. In collaboration with Dr. Sareeya Bureekaew, she additionally demonstrated that these compounds have promising applications for protecting metals from corrosion. This fundamental study paves the way towards a new generation of smart molecules and materials with applications in anticorrosion, biomedicine, and smart agriculture.
