About Learning Center

VISTEC Learning Center aims to support VISTEC to be a world-class frontier research university and foster passionate faculty and talented students to improve their knowledge and skills thereby increasing Thailand ‘s competitiveness, sustainable development and propensity. Moreover, VISTEC Learning Center will archive publications produced by VISTEC and other related VISTEC publications.

1. To provide all information resources covering wide range of subjects and facilities to support research and learning activities in VISTEC.
2. To promote and encourage the use of VISTEC Learning Center information resources and facilities so that all resources and facilities are utilized for maximum benefits.
3. To collect and archive all publications produced by VISTEC such as students’ theses, VISTEC newsletters and other publications including books and magazines. and to make those publications available and easily accessible.

Working Hours
MON – FRI | 8:00 am. to 6:00 pm.
The Learning Center’s operation days are compliance with the Institute’s operation.

Circulation Service
Borrow, return and renew information resources at the circulation counter or through the Self-Check machine.

Borrowing Privileges
Every VISTEC member has the opportunity to suggest items that they consider important for literacy, education and research. E-mail to Librarian and leave your suggestion.

Every VISTEC member has the opportunity to suggest items that they consider important for literacy, education and research. E-mail to Librarian and leave your suggestion.

Library Collaboration
VISTEC Learning Center and KVIS Academic Resources Center collaborate and share resources where users can get information resources from either location.

Training / Workshop
VISTEC Learning Center provide users with various workshop/training sessions to improve their skills on using online databases and research tools.

Are available in every area of the Learning Center, Users can access the service directly to VISTEC wi-fi.

Off-Campus Access
To access our online resources from off campus, users must configure the VPN setting by following the VISTEC VPN Manual.


VISTEC Learning Center (VLC) has printed materials including books, magazines and others. In addition, non-printed materials such as CDs and DVDs are available. Lastly Vistec Learning Center provides multiple online databases and research tools.

Reference Databases

Web of Science
References and abstracts database covers Science Citation, Social Science Citation, Arts & Humanities Citation from journals more than 9,700 titles since 2001 – present.

SciFinder is a research discovery application that provides integrated access to the world's most comprehensive and authoritative source of references, substances and reactions in chemistry and related sciences.

The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD)
The CSD was one of the first numerical scientific databases to make maximum use of crystallographic data in applications in the life sciences and crystallography.

Intellectual properties and patents search tools, analysis extracts meaningful information on competitors and technology trends from IP data.

The most of scientific research database to describe experimental and analytical techniques utilized in the lab also finding these methods and protocols in the literature.

ACS publishes 50 peer-reviewed journals with cutting-edge articles across a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines. The breadth and scope of ACS Publications journals is unparalleled, stretching across chemistry, physics, and biology.

4) ScienceDirect
VISTEC provides ScienceDirect online journals cover in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Energy, Material Science, and Physics and Astronomy subjects from 634 journals since 2002 – present.

5) Wiley
Wiley Online Library is the international scientific, technical, medical, and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, with strengths in every major academic and professional field and partnerships with many of the world's leading societies. (full text dating back to 1998-present)

6) SpringerLink
A visionary information service created for the Internet SpringerLink is divided according to fields into the so-called Online Libraries of life sciences, chemical sciences, computer science, physics & astronomy, and engineering.

7) IOP Science
IOPscience is an online service for journal content published by IOP Publishing. IOPscience embraces innovative technologies to make it easier for researchers to access scientific, technical and medical content.

8) American Physical Society (APS)
The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities.

9) The American Institute of Physics (AIP)
AIP Publishing provides the global physical science community with a comprehensive collection of highly cited peer reviewed scientific information. Accessed by researchers at nearly 4,000 institutions worldwide

10) Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)
PNAS is one of the world's most-cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals, publishing more than 3,200 research papers annually. Submissions are accepted from all researchers.

11) The Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC)
The high-quality science that seeks to elucidate the molecular and cellular basis of biological processes. Papers published in JBC can therefore fall under the umbrellas of not only biological chemistry, chemical biology, or biochemistry, but also allied disciplines such as biophysics, systems biology, RNA biology, immunology, microbiology, neurobiology, epigenetics, computational biology, ’omics, and many more.

Research Tools

1) EndNote
EndNote is a reference management software package, used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles. It is produced by Clarivate Analytics (previously by Thomson Reuters).

2) Turnitin
Turnitin is an Internet-based plagiarism-prevention service created by iParadigms, LLC, first launched in 1997. The results can be used to identify similarities to existing sources or can be used in formative assessment to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing.
